The trio of Play Station 4 ads was inspired by an assignment at university, where I was to made an ad series combining both physical images and a sense of illustrative design. I immediately like the idea of reflecting the imaginative quality of playing a video game, surrounding the tool which itself allows you to embrace such an imagination; in this case being the game controller. The first of the ads I imagined was that of For The Game reflecting the soccer game FIFA on PS4. I liked the idea of mixing the illustrative style of actual sports plays with the more colorful upbeat tone that the FIFA games exude. I then went on to reflect the same concept with the Spider-Man game on PS4, and decided to stick with including a slogan from each game as part of the design. The final design was that of Fallout on PS4, where I also wanted to play with including illustrative design with specific pieces of the game controller; in this case the mushroom clouds over the synchronized buttons R1 and R2.
