This album design was inspired by the second album by British alternative-pop band The 1975, “I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It.” The challenge regarding the design was that only type and shapes could be used for the album cover. I was inspired by the pink theme of the album, as well as the promotional campaign held by the band leading up to the release of the album, where they set up neon signs of their songs names around various public settings. The square shapes stacked upon the album cover also represent the bands logo, tattooed on lead singer Matty Healy’s arm, and represent the four members of the band.
